MAKING NEW WORLDS,
IN REAL LIFE
About Kaira
BIO
A unique voice working at the intersection of arts & entertainment, business, culture, design, emotional intelligence, and the future of labor & care, Kaira Akita has a genius for architecting liberation-centered ideas, innovations, and infrastructures that unlock our most free & clear human experience — starting with her own. She is the founder-creator of The Creation Agenda, a four-part concept portfolio for new worlds that actually feel good to live, work, and take great care of each other in: pure creative gold, Slow Creation Club, Your Creation Power, and The Creator One Percent Fund. Her liberation-centered perspective also shows up in her latest public writing projects, Growing through the Emotions and The Shape of Escape, and her side quest Mood & Muse Haus, a design platform sharing the mood-lifting power of neuroaesthetics for home, work, hospitality, & highly personal style.
Previously known for supporting & series regular comedic roles in Why Did I Get Married, The Family That Preys, and the Sundance film turned BET’s first scripted series Somebodies, Kaira continues to expand her 20+ year artistic career playing, directing, and writing tough & tender characters for stage and screen. Born in Washington DC and raised in Wiesbaden, Germany, she holds a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Georgia, a NAACP Theatre Award for Best Supporting Actress, and project placements at Women in Film Los Angeles, JuVee Productions, Kids at Play, and HerArts Film Lab in Paestum, Italy. She is based in Los Angeles and Atlanta with global touch points in Johannesburg, Capetown, and London.

A quick IMDB or Google search lists me as an actor, director, and producer. All facts. But not necessarily the truth. There’s a difference, yes?
Truth: My acting & entertainment career is just one piece of my greater body of work. I am, as a whole, someone who cares deeply about creating our own worlds, from the inside out. Because I know first hand — when we learn to center our creation power, new worlds open up for us all.
So, whether you love my acting & entertainment work or feel called to tap into my new worlds, side quests, or public writing on feeling deeply & thinking critically, there’s so much I’m ready to share with you in 2026 and beyond. I’m so glad you’re here.
