I’m an actress & creator making my own path at the intersection of creativity, storytelling, and entrepreneurship.
At heart, I'm a creative problem solver who's hardwired to look at any and everything -- a character, a story, a project, a brand, an event, an outfit, a room, our society, ourselves -- and think but what if we do it THIS way? This has taken me on a winding road of creative adventures for over a decade, and I'm in gratitude for all of it. Well, maybe not ALL of it. That one time I somehow became the actress from the Tyler Perry movies who was offering a service to write bios for a "special price" of $39.00 at a Black women's conference? That shit was stupid. But anyway. I digress.
The point is, as I enter the next era of my creative life and work, I’m finally able to see, embrace, and be energized by the full scope of who I am and what I do. Creative innovation is my love language, and I’m ready to speak now more than ever. Whether I’m writing, performing, producing, branding, designing, styling, building a business, or breaking down ideas, I’m forever passionate about what’s possible when we rise up to new creative ways of seeing ourselves, each other, and the world around us. This, I hope, will be my life’s work. So when I reach those pearly gates God will say well done good and faithful and fabulous (girl, where did you get that outfit?!) servant. That would be dope.
now / next
Writing has always been my first true love. As a child, it was the one thing I did that 100% belonged to me as a pure form of expression, discovery, and social activism (yes, I wrote poems about racism at the tender age of 9 — such a strange little child). I am thrilled to finally sit my ass down and write, write, and write some more for myself, the screen, the stage, & beyond.
It’s been thirteen years since I made my lead acting debut in the 2006 Sundance film turned BET’s first scripted series Somebodies. Since then, I’ve realized that I find the most creative joy when I play specific, extreme characters that have some bite to them — be it comedy or drama. Looking forward to this next era of leaning into my character actress muscle. YAY.
Style + Decor.
One move, four major interior design projects, and 27.5 hairstyles later, I’m officially obsessed with harnessing the power of style & decor to activate & express our most inspired, creative selves. Currently overhauling my personal style while creating a live/work space that inspires my husband & I to create, taking on private design clients, & flipping furniture on the side.

“Most people you only want to watch do one thing. Then there's Kaira. You want to watch her where ever her gifts take her. ”
SAM CHRISTENSEN STUDIOS
"A natural. You're going to be a star. For sure."
“Most actors can’t create an individual character. But Kaira IS one.”
EMMY AWARD WINNING
"I discovered her page on Instagram and thought — very nice. Her posts are carefully curated, a mix of style, thought and a peek into her life. They are ... well, her. Kaira was immediately a friend in my head. Read a blog post or her reply to your social media comments and you'll feel like you've known her all along."
KATRICE L. MINES
EDITOR & BLOGGER
"When Kaira says she has talent we should meet, I’m instantly interested. Her instincts for both talent and concepts that fit their abilities are spot on. Beyond that, she understands the market and the importance of “flexible concepts” that can bend to fit different distribution channels yet stay within the expertise and abilities of the talent she’s developing.
When it comes to developing sizzles and concept materials, Kaira is imaginative and savvy. The work we’ve done with her is some of our best and we always look forward to an opportunity to work with her again."
PICTURE WINDOW PRODUCTIONS
"Kaira has worked with me on sharing my “true and authentic” self, which directly resulted in my sparkle on Project Runway S9 and Project Runway All Stars S6. Kaira has a way with people that makes them comfortable and brings out the best in them."
FASHION DESIGNER / TV PERSONALITY
"Kaira has a great knack for identifying the weak areas of a story. Her input never fails to take my work to another level."
“To know Kaira is to be completely charmed by her. Not only is she a savvy business woman, Kaira has the vision of a creative and the drive a go-getter. A truly chic and rebellious woman determined to create a space for herself.”
SUPPORT IS SEXY PODCAST
“Kaira captivates a room the moment she sets foot in it. Among the many things I adore is her willingness to be vulnerable as a storyteller, her desire to serve her community, and her love for art & humanity. Kaira is a gift to this world.”
SHE TAKES THE STAGE
"I saw Kaira on TV and I said, she's a star. I'm going to work with her one day."
